Report of the celebration of International Year of Chemistry-2011
International Year of
Chemistry-2011 is being celebrated at KV, Bagafa with all enthusiasm of
the students, teacher and parents. Under this various activities at
school level were conducted as directed by the head quarter, also many
other activities have been conducted. Some more activities have been
planned which will be conducted till the end of this year. At school
level all the activities as directed by head quarter have been conducted
and students are being prepared for cluster level and Regional level
competitions. (Quiz and Debate competition)
Under this celebration House
wise decoration of the display board, Talks in morning assembly, Paper
reading competition, on the spot painting competition, Poster making
competition, Debate competition on Nuclear Energy boon or bane, Quiz
competition were organized. Students also participated in essay writing
competition which was on line and to be uploaded by Think Quest.
Other than proposed activities,
some more activities like magic show were performed by the students
incorporating concepts of Chemistry. Like:
1. Concept of acids and bases.
2. Reaction of potassium
thiocyanate and Ferric chloride to form blood red colour.
3. Catching smoke: Reaction of Ammonium hydroxide and Conc. HCl
4. Fire Fighting :- Use of fire extinguishers
(both CO2 type and Dry powder type)
